It seems to me Silva wants out of something - either out of the UFC or maybe MMA altogether. I have seen him on camera at some other promotion's events, and this last fight he seemed to be just going through the motions to piss White off. Kinda like - sure I'm under contract to do a fight so here's a fight, but you aren't going to like it.

I've started to pick up on that myself. If he isn't moving up to LHW, what else does he have to prove in the UFC?

UFC's LHW is loaded, and I'm guessing White does not want to crowd that constellation with too many stars. So he wants Silva to keep his weight class afloat as the world's best p4p fighter.
It seems either Silva wants to move up and isn't getting the opportunity or he just wants to be done. I had heard or read that he was talking about retiring, which seems insane right now.

I'd love to see Anderson finish his career with these 3 fights if he is going to actually try and retire on top. He might would go down as the best fighter ever with wins in those 3 fights, depending on how Fedor finishes out.

Silva and Machida are friends. Since Machida will soon be the LHW champ and won't fight his friend that would be pointless.

Dana hates when fighters fight at two classes. If Silva wins the 205 lb belt, then he would there would less championship PPVs. Look at Ken Flo sitting around waiting for BJ to fight him after the GSP fight. It's a business and fighters only fight around 3 times a year. It makes more sense to have different belt holders.

He called me at 8:30 this morning.
This time he had callers lined up to talk so I was little nervous someone was going to ask me something I didn't know.

I must've heard you before. It's amazing how clueless and ignorant the outside world is on MMA. I don't follow golf but I know the players/rules. The ignorant masses only know Kimbo and Brock.
