Going toe to toe was not the best plan. Bet he doesn’t do that next time.

He couldn’t take him down … he tried.

I never saw that performance coming from Yan especially to not miss a step or breath in rounds 4 and 5.

I kept waiting for the fight to “turn”.

He stayed strong. Very impressive and fully earned. That was really enjoyable to watch.

I mean he was like 2 for 26 on takedowns, it's not as if he didn't try to get Yan down

True but it wasn’t the failed take downs that were getting him busted up though. His cardio would have allowed him to go 2 for 60. It’s all hindsight. Regardless, standup against Yan won’t be his first option next go round.

So Yan decided to get the same EPO as Merab, and level his advantage. Them Russians ain't gonna let a Georgian get the bets of him again.

So who else are we thinking for WH Card?

Suga v Yan

Paddy/Justin v Illia

Poatan v Aspinal/Jones/Gane

Bo Nickal v Tomato Can

Black Beast v. HW contender undercard

Porier out of retirement?

Kayla Harrison?

Colby Covington will get very undercard pre-prelim spot at least. His history with Trump is too ongoing to not get a prefight opener.

Guessing aside, imagine how massive this event is going to be in the end… WOW

… and I really don’t see anyway Jon Jones is kept off the card. I think it’s all proper posturing by Dana for Jon to really step up and prove himself and keep it clean.

Even Rogan said on one recent podcast that’s he absolutely sure Jones is secretly training and in camps already for this opportunity

Why? Merab and Yan are 1-1, Merab also beats suga 8/10 times?

reflecting back to the card what a great card. I cant say enough about petr yan performance. IMO when you consider how good merab is and that he was able to dominate him in all aspects of the fight. I dont doubt it that it was a little foolish of merab to turn around so quick after 3 weight cuts in a year but props to petr what a great performance. I think maybe one of the best we have seen in a championship fight
