topuria. I like bryce but I dont know how far he can go without better striking and probably working with a reputable gym with good training partners.

Topuria looked like a future #1 contender in that fight. Mitchell also said after the fight that he had the flu just before the fight.

He also had to make weight twice in 3 or 4 weeks because his originally scheduled fight (with Evoleav, I think) was changed last minute.

Not saying that would have changed the outcome on the Topuria fight, that dude is a monster, but Mitchell basically said he should not have taken that fight and was not ready for it.

I do also agree that he needs some vast improvements on his striking and he seems to get out-muscled sometimes by stronger fighters.

If he went to a place like AKA or ATT or Trevor Whittman, he could probably flourish, but I don't think he will do that.

Bryce mitchell is out of the fight. This card has had some bad luck. I hope this means they move dober vs frevola to main card.

Also juliana pena is out vs amanda nunes. Irene aldana is gonna fight nunes now. Could be 4 mexicans with belts if she wins. Hopefully they have a mexico coty card id love to go to that.

Yeah he is trying to steal the title shot from colby. If he beats belal imo he deserves it

Dana likes Colby. I think he wants him to get the title shot.

One of the best main card's in recent UFC PPV events.

Not really, don't see many people shelling out $80 for this one... not sure why ESPN doesn't start bundling these because the only real draws for PPV are Izzy & Jones (Conor still isn't in the USADA pool last I checked) and Jones is talking about retirement

Also main card is staying as is, they found a replacement for Mitchell

I think the ufc needs to add two weight divisions minimum. Need more title fights.

Get rid of 170 and do 165 and 175. Maybe add a womens 105. Might be room for a 195 also.

While this card isnt horrible it isnt stacked either. Just hate when they put really good fighters on fight nights and some of the ppv are bare.

Hw division is shite and jones/stipe done seem too interested in fighting. Pavlovich is the only contender. Lhw is shite. Middleweight is locked up Again with adesanya winning.

You have fighters like poirier, chimaev, and gaethje that are stars but dont seem to want to fight often. Leon wins the belt and doesnt want to fight. Machachev isnt fighting until october or some shite.

I also think they really fricked up doing volk vs yair and moreno vs pantoja on the same card. Imo one of those should be headlining a mexico city card when you have 3 mexican beltholders and trying to open a PI in mexico. Dana is asleep at the wheel!

this came up on 287 or 286 post card conference and he straight up said they've fricked up when it comes to Mexico

this will be the first UFC PPV that will not be purchasing since about mid-2019. it's just not a "PPV" card that is worth $88 (after tax). factor that in with ESPN constantly bumping the price by $5 every year ... this one is a strong pass.

there are literally maybe four fights on this card worth getting hype about and two of them are on the free prelims.

God help em if they let the winner of Belal or Burns jump over Covington for the next title fight .... a potential Edwards vs Belal/Burns main event may not even break 100k PPV buys

Not necessarily true.

Colby gets a lot of attention, but he's not been a good PPV draw

With shows like this and Nunes-Aldena probably doing ho-hum PPV numnbers (but live gates doing insane numbers), I highly doubt they will go the way of WWE but I do hope there's negotiations in the next deal where they offer some kind of bundle for the hardcores since your average fan probably really buys 3-4 PPVs a year.. I don't want to make a guess what the price point should be but I think it'd cut down on piracy and in the end most importantly, be a win-win for everyone
