That was boring AF. Impressive, but boring.
it can be boring if a dude is just laying there and not doing anything. But the guy was active and masterful then finished him with a crazy choke.

Pray. You just have to throw bombs and hope one lands because he's bringing you to the ground whether you want to or not

I don’t even think bombs are the answer because he is so good at slipping and shooting. I think you have to try to time a knee or an uppercut. I don’t know. Once he gets you down the round is his and by time they stand you up again you are too diminished. That’s a nightmare of a puzzle.

Exactly. He was always trying to finish him.

I respect and admire what he was doing.

Rd 1- get the take down, make him tired, and don’t even try to inflict damage unless he panics and gives an opportunity (arm bar)

Rd 2- take down and Crank up the pressure. Inflict damage and steal his will

Rd 3- more of the same and finish of it presents itself

Not saying it wasn’t beautiful and a great performance but it was definitely like watching BJJ rolls where a white belt is just trying to not get tapped by a purple the whole 5 min

I love these. They both think the other guy sucks and they will kill him. Love it

This. I actually thought that was a pretty exciting display grappling compared to how it can go. Doesn’t get anymore high level than what we just saw. These next 3 fights should be fireworks tho

Problem with that though is he never really went low for his takedowns. Like Cormier said, you can practice and practice takedown defense, but until you get in the Octagon with that guy it's not the same.

And the problem is Khabib and Islam are just a different breed when it comes to that, so there is just nothing that can prepare you for them

I thought for a second Rogan was about to take a shot at that Russian rap song and I was going to have to reminisce about what Rogan brought us before they got to him

Oh it was, but after that first half of it I was just thinking "Don't do it Joe"

This intro mood lighting is a little awkward
