yeah heaven forbid he lead a good life and have to fight a guy who got busted for steroids and hitting a pregnant lady while high on coke who didn't even have to earn his title shot
Steroids? Didn't earn a title shot? LOL.
Like I explicitly stated, Cormier seems to lead a straight life. But he is condescending and a douche while doing it. Essentially every ridiculous pompous douche you meet at the church.

You could not be further from the truth with this. He's a really cool guy.
He just hates Jon Jones and he is playing up the heel persona because Just Bleed fans hate him.

So he is playing a character? Now I may actually pull for Jones.

You're describing Jon Jones before everyone found out he was a phony coke head who cheats on his wife. When is Cormier preaching or condescending outside of trash talk to Jones?

You must not know the history of Jones. He played that straight-laced / religious role for the beginning of his career. No one liked him because it wasn't genuine and people saw through it. Then the drug habit, etc. came out and justified people's opinion that he was really a smug douchebag.
I wish he would have embraced it from the beginning. Brash, cocky, arrogant. That's fine. Fight fans can get behind that.
ETA: Maximus beat me to it.

Yes steroids. And you tell me he deserves a title shot after getting suspended, stripped of his title and barely beat OSP? Which was before his suspension? When you frick up as much and as bad as him he needs to earn his title shot

I get that you have a serious dislike of Jon Jones, but this is the fight to make.
"Did he earn this fight?" usually takes a back seat to "Will this fight sell?" This is nothing new in the MMA world.

I understand that but it doesn't change the fact that the UFC just hands him shite yet threaten Demetrius Johnson with selling the entire fly weight division because he wanted to defend his belt against a guy who earned his shot.

What % DC retires no matter if he win/lose?
I say 40%

Jon Jones is an all-time great fighter and DJ doesn't sell. Is it fair? No, but it's a business.

Bring in more money, you get more leeway. It's a universal rule.

You made it sound like DJ wasnt so I was clarifying. And I'm willing to bet more people will buy this fight hoping to see Jones lose than win.
Posted on 7/27/17 at 12:24 pm to Byron Bojangles III
DJ is one of the best we've ever seen. For whatever reason, he doesn't sell.

DC better return that shirt if he loses; only champions get to wear that one.
