But Diaz won round 3 right? Just let me know who's scorecard was right and who's wasn't. I'm done here.
they could have for sure given it to diaz, the judges dont always get it right like in one of the prelims

50-45 was the right score.
GSP is a finisher though guys

I guess we aren't acknowledging that GSP's last finish was against BJ.....over four years ago.
Heck, he couldn't even finish Dan Hardy.
Then why doesn't someone step up and finish him?
The guy isn't the most exciting by any means but credit given where credit is due. If he's winning then not much you can argue about whether he's finishing guys. He's still controlling them for 5 rounds in a fairly dominant fashion.

GSP is my favorite fighter, but even I am getting frustrated with his lack of finishing. He's not even trying to hurt his opponent.
He throws every punch with like 50% power. It's fine to do that to set up the power shots, but he does it just to score points.
Even on the ground.
He hardly postures up, and doesn't even throw many elbows. He's just fighting for position the entire time.
I can understand not trying to submit Diaz, but he's GOT to at least try to land a hard punch. He doesn't throw combinations, either.
He minimizes risk to the point of reducing his own ability to do damage to zero.

Yeah this fight wasn't an arse whipping, but GSP clearly won 1 and 2 and pretty much did as he pleased. At no point did Diaz look like he won anything. GSP put it on cruise control. It sucks that these big fights aren't better. I used to watch every PPV, but they just aren't as good. I feel like the under cards have produced a lot of the better finishes. Silva is the same way. Early on he'd just go crazy. Now he wins the first couple of rounds and rides it out. I don't know if that's changed a lot, since I'm just a casual observer at this point.

I give GSP full credit and I respect what he does. I'm only frustrated because I think he could be finishing some of these fights, but there seems to have been a conscious decision to fight conservatively and collect wins. I'm not saying it's easy to do what he does, I just wish he would try to do more.
At 170, GSP can do this as long as he wants and go undefeated.

And it's frustrating because he used to try to hurt his opponent, even with the same style he implements now.
So we all know he has the ability.
He purposely chooses not to land hard shots. And that is what is frustrating. He used to beat people's asses.
Now he's just content to win a decision without doing much of anything.

Thank Greg Jackson.
I don't even think he trains there at all.
He's exclusively with Tri Star.

Meh. This fight was about as predictable as they come. Even 20 something of the 30 or so "experts" sherdog polled said GSP by decision.
GSP wasn't going to try and finish Diaz. Diaz's only way to win was a sub or knockout. No in MMA around 170lbs stands a chance against GSP's completely dominant wrestling. It has been the same story for years and it won't change. GSP fights smart and does the "lay and pray" better than anyone in the history of MMA.
He has about accomplished all he can at 170 IMO though. No one is going to beat him as long as he sticks to his gameplan. Not now, not next year, not 3 years from now.

the koscheck fight was the last time i can say he was trying to crush his opponent

I think the most frustrating thing about GSP is that we all know how awesome and exciting he can be, he just choses the easy way.
I can't say that I blame him, but it definitely difficult to watch over and over again.

He had a nice jab that closed Koscheck's eye.
He had many opportunities to really hurt Koscheck, but he chose to sit back and land safe jabs.
The last good fight he had in my opinion was against Alves at UFC 100.

until he takes an L he wont have that fire back
