any tension or was sherdog making something out of nothing?

A bunch of boos from the crowd but that's it.

and did rua really tap?

I didn't notice it but he was not defending at that point, he just got rocked bad from a knee to the body and to head when they were getting off the mat and he was just trying to survive a la Edgar but wasn't defending. It was just a matter of time. Rua was rocked several times during the fight but Jones didn't really go for the finish per say just kept picking him apart. That was the most impressive part for me, how he picked apart Shogun in the stand up.

Did he really, I didn't see that. When he was on the ground the last time?

I saw as he went down against the cage and the ref rushed in he quickly tapped

oh no, I meant the fight ended in the mid 3rd I thought

they stood up after Jones landed a couple of big shots from on top...Shogun was completely dead on his feet

finish

yeah there is a little tap at the end but it was already stopped

end of round?

No tko on strikes and Rua not defending a right and then a second knee to the head i believe.

Officially it was a TKO, but Rua tapped to strikes

His fights against Coleman, Liddell, and the two against Machida he was great. I thought he'd be champ for awhile and would give Jones alot of trouble

i never had faith in rua to be a consistent champ. conditioning issues

i just don't think machida is as dominant as people thought, i guess

Not the fight itself. But I'm saying he has looked great for several consecutive fights and really should have won them all (the first Machida decision was bs)

Yeah, he tapped as Herb came in to stop the fight. He obviously didn't know the fight was being stopped, pretty remarkable to force a guy like Shogun into tapping due to strikes.

Here are the Fight Metrics stats.

The numbers are pretty incredible, Jones landed 70 strikes to the head, wow.

“So while we were at the park today, a crack head smashed this old lady’s car window and took off running with her G.P.S. just as we were pulling up,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “Right away, coach [Winkeljohn] goes after this guy. Without hesitation, coach Jackson went after him. I was shocked and stood there for a second. Then I threw my phone down and went with my coaches. Before you know it, we’re sprinting up a steep hill chasing after him.”

Jones, who fights in the UFC 128 main event, reportedly caught the suspect and took him to the ground, according to a report from TMZ.com. Jones’ driver even snapped a picture of Jones and his trainers apprehending the man before the police arrived.

“I turned the jets on. We caught the guy. We got the lady’s G.P.S. back,” wrote Jones. “It feels so good to help others. It gives me power and energy.”
