i mean this is why we have a playoff, bc they wouldn't get a NC shot under the old BCS system.

winning a conference championship at 12-0 is impressive enough, but then to do it again when you have a target on your back? to do it without your starting QB?

the other contenders i'd leave out have had great seasons, but we're looking for the best of the best here. the line is established now. go undefeated and you're in. lose, and you leave yourself a reason to be out of the CFP in favor of teams that didn't.

and in my mind, the AAC is the successor to the Big East. the Big East after losing most of its top teams still had an undefeated Cincinnati who would have gotten in a 4 team playoff that year. After losing Miami and Virginia Tech, that Big East in 2007 had four different teams in USF and Rutgers and Louisville and West Virginia at different points in the season that could have made a 4 team playoff. When TCU was in the MWC they were #4 and #3 when undefeated.

Did you see that dude's knee. I'd agree if the starting an who won 24 games in a row was healthy.

yeah i did. obviously the backup behind him was good enough to not frick everything up, and that's only one player of 22 starters

2017 UCF played a better schedule

To go further, I would take a number of Boise St teams over them

Also, there is 1998 Tulane

Disagree, if they want a shot then they have to schedule big games and prove to the country they deserve it. Not use the easy way out, “until big teams will do home and homes with us.” Guess what? You are a small school, you haven’t earned a big program losing money to play at your school. Go on the road and beat big teams and make a real statement. Schedule a neutral site game. But knowing a big school won’t come to your little school to play you is a cowardly way to avoid a loss. There is no real win for a program to play you there. And don’t pick the small big 5 schools. You want to play the top 4 in playoffs, at least schedule some top 20 caliber teams. And don’t say you never know where a team will be, others are good at scheduling schools that are in top 20 talks every year.

Do they even have a single top 20 victory?

#1 reason UCF shouldn't be in top 4:

No one wants to watch on-field amputations...

The committee takes UCF as seriously as UCF takes their schedule. They mitigated their mediocre conference schedule with

South Carolina State
Pittsburgh
@ North Carolina
Florida Atlantic

Gotta do better than that. Rest assured that if you don’t have a P5 conference schedule, a FCS school on your schedule indicates that you aren’t to be taken seriously when it comes to the playoff.
