I'll say
Starr/Dawson
Bradshaw/Staubach
Aikman/Kelly
Montana/Anderson

Food for thought-- if we see a rematch of last year's Super Bowl, and the Steelers come out on top, you'd have a 3 time SB champ Roethlesburger against a Super Bowl champ Rodgers with a 2nd Super Bowl appearance--- and still on the upward career trajectory. Even if they don't face off, but both collect additional championships, it could easily end up a Top 3 or 4 SB QB matchup.

Brett Favre isn't even the best QB in the history of his own team.

That's just foolish. Who is better? Rodgers?

You have to actually let his career play out first. If Rodgers gets struck down by lightning today, then Favre would undoubtedly be Green Bay's top QB ever.

All things considered. I would take Starr over Favre. At the QB position I take winning to a different level than most and NO QB was a better winner with GB than Starr.

Yep. Favre was incredibly successful as a QB.

If you want to go by team success, then the Packers won 62.4% of their games under Favre. The Packers won 61.8% of their games under Starr.

Team success??? Starr won MORE titles than Favre. I rest my case.

There were a lot less teams as well. Not to mention, Starr played in a running oriented league with a historically great coach and studs all around him.

If you want to use the titles argument, then I am out. I have heard that lazy shite a million times.

Then we have to seperate ERAS. RIGHT??? Favre was a great QB, I always enjoyed watching him play. His love for THE GAME was unmatched by nobody. But the Topic is in a SB matchup. Elway /Favre was one of the best SB'S EVER.

60's - Starr vs. Dawson
70's - Bradshaw vs. Staubach
80's - Montana vs. Marino
90's - Montana vs. Elway
2000's - Manning vs. Brees

This is the correct answer and I can't believe how many of you are getting it wrong. Both games were epic.

Farve and Elway would be second. Manning and Brees, third.

Marino/Montana loses points because it was a complete blowout.

It'd be more interesting to discuss QBs that were actually great when they played in the SB.

Elway was past his prime when he won his 2.

Favre was right in the thick of it against Elway, though.

Brees/Manning were both at their peaks.

Marino was still young when he faced Montana, but obviously still awesome.

During none of the 3 Patriots SB wins was Brady truly "elite." He was elite for their loss under him.

That wasn't the question, read the title again.

Both Marino and Montana are better than either Bradshw or Staubach.
