I read Dave Dixon's book about a year ago, you owe it to yourself to read it. It's great insight into this whole deal. He pitched the Superdome to Tulane as a great recruiting tool. He said, to the effect, what 17 year-old kid would NOT be wowed by the Superdome and the opportunity to play college ball in a state-of-the-art NFL facility?

And, following the opening of the Louisiana Superdome, Tulane DID have some success in both attendance and on the field in the late 1970s with a team lead by QB Roch Hontas. They beat LSU a couple times in the early 80s, then slid under a few bad coaches, Vegas Vince Gibson, Mack Brown, Wally English, et.al.

That kind of product isn't worth anyone's time or money, at least not when there's no current hope of improvement.

Tulan fans suck. It has nothing to do with product. I was at the UNDEFEATED last game of the season in 98 with about 11 other fans even though the announced number was much higher.

Even when Tulane wins, their fans no longer give a crap. The fans suck.

Sucks because it's an awesome road trip for their opponents. We loved when USL would play Tulane. Get Saints tickets and do a double Dome weekend.

Wasn't it just a few months ago, Tulane was talking about building a new stadium? I knew they got few to see them at the Superdome, but that's terrible

Sad, but that seems to be the case. The Dome looked empty even during the undefeated season.

Tad Gormley would also fail after the "newness" wore off after a couple of games. Why drive to City Park for the game?

Nope, the only prayer would be an on campus facility. But I don't think that's going to happen.

So every team that hasn't won recently should just quit? I hope you're not serious.
