There’s a bunch of TTM groups on Facebook that keep popping up in my feed, but for the most part it seems like its all retired guys.

I’d imagine its tough to get TTM for current players because they get more volume of fan mail and are busier in general.

This. Tons of resources so you know what to do and how to do it.

Active players are going to be MUCH tougher to get.

I used to get several current players in spring training. Some will probably sign during the season. But it will probably take awhile to get whatever you send back.

Current players. Even retired players lots of time will ask for a donation. Nephew did recently get Buck Showalter and Buck Martinez. Both signed for free TTM. Showalter even included a personalized note.

Most of mine were retired players that were coaches. One of my biggest successes was getting back a Kershaw rookie when he was in the minors. I sent it off to get authenticated to PSA years ago. And still have it today.

Early 80s, my cousin and I each sent a letter and baseball card for our favorite player to sign. Send the letters in early February to their respective teams. I still have my Johnny Bench card he autographed it took a few months to get the card back. My cousin sent his to Nolan Ryan, it took at least five years, was in high school by then, but he got a signed picture and his card back.

Yeah, some of mine took over a year to get back. Some only a week. It just varies. But I always enjoyed finding something in my mailbox that wasn't bills.
