I could see Gene Smith saying "hey TRessel take the fall and you will be made AD one day" knowing that anyone can be named AD.
Gene Smith has a lot more to lose. If he has something like lack of institutional control on his resume, there is no way he will become head of the NCAA.

No, the problems are radical followers on message boards who overexaggerate problems and bash on their own team and university. Ever seen LSU fans in meltdown mode? I've talked to plenty of Alumni who just want to move on from this, not fire coach Tressel.

Prior to that admission you could blame the whole reporting issue on Tressell... even argue OSU aggressively self reported

My whole family has, I will be attending next year, so you can't be a fan if your not attending the univesity?
I work for my own tickets, I've attended Wisconsin and the Sugar Bowl along with every home game of the past 6 seasons. Not once have I bashed any player-minus Hamby and Boeckman, Tressel, or questioned their autrhority.
I admire people questioning supreme authority such as our government, but this is not the time, Tressel and OSU needs fans coming together. But then again this is tigerdroppings and not Buckeyeplanet

Fair enough...but to say that we aren't fans just shows how bad of a fan you are. You root for The Ohio State University...not Tressel University, not Pryor University. If him getting fired is best for the university then you should accept it. At this point, it may be the best thing for the university.
