As noted they aren’t near the bottom in payroll. It’s just been spent on bums. And for how mediocre they’ve been, they have drafted and developed quite poorly to still have a below-average farm system

It’s not like as visitor friendly as an AL East game at the Trop (RIP) but Denver’s also a transplant city, and Coors attendance this year for how bad they’ve been is insane. It’s hard for owners to feel the pressure when crowds keep coming back and they can say “well, we’re trying!”
