That's been the Astros style for years now. My favorite was a few years back when Mike Lamb was hitting over .400 in like July while platooning with Shitsberg and we still didn't use him in the every day lineup

I've seen him outside the park on a few occasions. Always a really nice guy. One of the instances I was waiting tables at Saltgrass my senior year of highschool and he came in with his youngest son to pick up a to go order. We had a party in back who was having a birthday party for their 10 year old son. The kids dad went up to Roger and asked him for an autograph for his son cause it was his birthday. Roger asked him how long he was gonna be there and said he would do better than an autograph but he had to take the food home to his family. He came back with a jersey and signed it for the kid. This isn't a second hand story, I was actually there to see this and ever since I have been a big time Roger fan. It was even better the Astros happened to sign him a few years later
