Top 10 pitchers and Top 5 teams MLB '09?

A buddy of mine and I have a bet/wager on who the top 10 pitchers and top 5 teams are going to be in MLB this year. We are "drafting" Sunday. We each pick 10 pitchers and 5 teams and at the end of the season who ever has the most combined wins gets $100, case of beer and a handle of whiskey. Advice and picks is much appreciated.

What categories are you using to define best pitchers? Wins/Ks/ERA/WHIP, etc?

Who ever has the most wins at the end of the season. Pitchers wins + team wins= total wins.

i would take out ervin santana and add in king felix, but that's only my opinion

I take it you can't take the same pitcher? So you may want to know who people think the top 20 pitchers are.
As for teams, I'd take the Cubs and Twins for sure things of getting a lot of wins imo.

If you are going strictly on wins, I would throw in Cole Hamels. Aces or even #2 guys on teams that have a ton of run support would be more valuable in some cases than aces on teams that struggle to score/win.

Correct, and if your teams play against eachother the game is a wash. Will not hurt your w/l record.

Wins are pretty random for a starting pitcher, I would just sign guys on good teams. Take the Red Sox and Tampa rotations with a healthy splash of Mets, Phillies, and Cubs.

That's dumb - they should count twice as much instead of not counting at all.
