It's like talking to a hardcore evangelical or Atheist, and I'm not talking about Cowboys fans here. There is no thought given to it anymore: they know the truth (Romo sucks, chokes, etc...) and to utter something that may not fit their world view is either blasphemous or mocked as foolish.

And to think that maybe many of the things they use as examples occurred early in his career and he may have improved a little since his days at EASTERN FRIGGIN ILLINOIS?

Pffft! Don't be silly.

It's very tiring

OK. Once he gets validation from you, he'll know he's made it.

He's the most overrated QB in the league.

Jesus Christ.

Clearly he's overrated to put up the stats that he does and still gets looked at like the worst man to play the game.

The fact of the matter is Romo is called a "great" QB
So your definition of "great" = "does not suck". Because the only defense of Romo I see is against those who say he's terrible. Anyone who thinks he is "terrible" is simply delusional. And they think so because he plays for the Cowboys - no other reason.

I don't think Romo is terrible. Mark Sanchez is terrible and I think it's obvious to everyone on this board that Romo > Sanchez. My contention is that Romo is overrated. Yeah...he puts up stats - but what QB not named Sanchez DOESN'T put up stats in this particular era of NFL football? You can give me examples of great QBs such as Dan Marino, Warren Moon, and Steve McNair who never managed to win a Super Bowl, but those aren't similar examples. Those QBs won AFC/NFC Offensive MVP awards, had a few NFL MVP awards, and all of that junk. What has Tony Romo had? He's been awarded a trip to Honolulu three times by fans who vote on NFL.com.

It's Romo's fault that JJ is GM. It's Romo's fault his OL stinks. It's Romo's fault Garrett and Miles went to the same clock management school. It's Romo's fault the only healthy offensive option he consistently has is Witten. Has he made bad decisions? Yes but who hasn't?

Maybe he didn't win anything because this has been the best crop of QBs in the NFL, ever.

No one is saying he is a top 5 Qb, but there is no doubt that he is a top 10 QB right now. He has been hampered with a shitty o-line, played for 3 different coaches, and has never had a consistent run game or defense his entire time in the league. If he took a Dallas team from the last 6 years to the Super Bowl, it would have been a damn miracle.

Considering that there is a huge drop off once you get past Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, etc. I can agree with this.

Why hasn't romo won any awards? Same reason that idiots like you think he's overrated. You get your opinion of romo from the dumbasses on espn.

There's a media bias against the cowboys cause most everybody hates the cowboys

Let me ask you a question. Hate em or not, I think you will agree that the cowboys have had a few great players. How many of them are in the Hall of Fame? Which is voted on by the media. 13. Only 13 cowboys in the Hall of Fame

As far as stats go I don't know what to tell you. He has had 4 4,000 yd seasons and he's the only cowboy Qb to ever have any 4,000 passing yds in a season. I think that's a little better than average and makes the overrated label completely asinine.

How can you be overrated when you never get credit and dumbasses like you say when he's been hot that they played nobodies. Yep that #1 passing defense in the NFL he torched last week for 341 yds 2 tds 0 ints with a 71% completion percentage sure is terrible..

1st Qb to throw for over 300 yds vs Pittsburgh in 2 yrs btw
