I like Tom Brady. 4 Super Bowl rings. Two freak plays away from 6 Super Bowl rings.
But, apparently Mr. Brady has not yet learned the following lesson:
Father Time is a Mother

Not when your best friend is a scam artist snake oil doctor.
The dude is magical.
All the more reason why Tom Brady is such a tool.

You do realize that Manning was playing at a GOAT level just a year ago? Father Time is undefeated. Brady could fall off at any point now.
The key to playing and being good when you're 40 is arm strength.
It's why Favre could still play. Manning has always had a noodle arm, so it was pretty easy to predict that his play would drop off greatly when his arm strength started to decrease from its normal level. Same thing is happening to Brees, even if it is somewhat because of injury.
Brady still has a very good arm. I would imagine he can play at a pretty high level until he is 41 or maybe 42. Plus, that Patriot offense is so perfectly constructed. Their receivers run amazing routes, and they throw a ton of short passes.
And remember, even if/when Brady declines to an average NFL quarterback in a few years, there's not exactly a ton of young quarterbacks beating down the door to take these 32 starting spots. The NFL is built around the quarterback, yet it can't find enough good ones to play the position.

You seriously think Brady has more pocket awareness than Drew Brees?
Brady's pocket awareness is so much better than Brees' that it's not even a contest. A lot of that might be height in fairness to Drew - Brady has 4 or 5 inches and 20-30 pounds on Breew which is an insane advantage.

Yep Matt Hasselbeck for the Colts in that TH night game over Houston 2 weeks ago is the best example. He played like a top 10 QB that game. I
Presnap is so vital in today's NFL so smart guys like Brady / Manning / Rodgers / Rivers / Romo / Brees can play awhile. I want to watch Cam Newton more bc he looks like he might be joining that club.

Are people on this board still pissed that the majority of people sided with Brady in the Brady vs Brees debate a few years ago?
It was Brady then, and it's Brady now. Brees was a really good QB though.

Brees may have been better than Brady from 2009-2011 but he had a huge weapons and domed stadium advantage.

until he is injured and his body cannot recover.
next week, next year, but not 10 years.

Brees was better for a few years and Brady had a noticeable dip
The man has redifined his game. He no longer has that amazing deep ball, but is the best presnap QB in the game's history imo, including Manning
He's getting rid of the ball in around 2 seconds.
His career is obviously better than Brees, but that was never the debate.

Fwiw "10 years" has been his go to answer to this regurgitated media question for like 8 years now. I don't think he put as much thought into the answer as everyone in this thread has
ETA but he's going out like Farve, as long as he's healthy enough to play, he will play for someone. Although I think he's aware enough of his legacy that he wouldn't go to a division rival if he had a choice like Farve did
I don't think he has any misillusions that the Pats "owe" him years past the point that he's the best option like Farve did.

The question will really be what will Bill do when Brady declines.
Find a way to cheat.

Certainly don't wish Brady any ill will, but one major injury can shorten his career just like every other football player.
He has been incredibly consistent when it comes to good health, which might mean the odds will eventually catch up with him and boom, blown knee.

The "odds" already caught up with him and he blew his knee out before.

And it will be hard to get injured never getting hit
He's shown he can adjust his play and remain elite. He's got some years left

The key is your legs. Most qb say they never lost the arm strength, but they lost thier legs.
Manning fell off last year after his leg injury.
