Tom Brady took a paycut to make the team around him great. LeBron took a pay raise

LeBron makes 41.4 million next year and 44 million the year after. Combine that with AD’s contract and it’s completely crippling for Lakers salary cap. They have no way to improve their team substantially (unless they think adding the soon to be 36 year old Kyle Lowery is smart. Yikes)

We’ve got an epic implosion heading our way. With Murray and Klay returning, the Laker’s ceiling going forward is likely the 5 seed behind Phoenix, Utah, Golden State, and Denver.

Then on the other hand, you have a selfless guy like Brady taking pay cuts in Tampa and New England to make the team around him better.

It's why I have mixed feelings about Drew Brees...he could have won a Super Bowl but took too much out of the cap to really make it happen.

Both won titles in their first (healthy) year with a new team so it seems to have worked out

LeRingchase has actually never won a title in his first year with a new team.

The best and worst thing to ever happen to the New Orleans Saints

He turned out to be the biggest piece of shite to ever wear a Saints uniform

Don't ever mention Drew Breese in a Tom Brady thread. They may have met each other but other than that they have absolutely NOTHING in common

Still counts. Lakers still count it. They still got what they wanted. Seemed to have worked out for all parties.

And then when he returned to Cleveland he said he’d never do that again.

Really dumb. But he’s a dumb guy so I’m not shocked.

If your main goal of playing is to attempt to catch Michael Jordan to try and convince people you’re better than him.... then yeah... it’s pretty dumb to not spare 10-15 million a year.

Did his cap hit stop referees from doing their job?

I don’t like that thing with Brees either but we had a literal serial rapist in Darren Sharper. We also have another guy (Brandon Browner) who is currently in prison.
