It’s been pretty disgusting. Especially watching the Yankees do what they did last night.

Rays avoid a sweep today against Boston. Moving back ahead of Boston and looking forward to a series in Toronto on Friday.

Are there this many Rays fans? Seems most of their games are played in front of a 1,000 fans.

I've counted 3, although Hurricane is the only one that seems to care

Outside of Astro and Braves, this board is devoid of baseball fans. Plenty show up at spring training in "your favorite team" thread but go missing. We use to have a daily baseball thread that went 15-20 pages every day but that quiet when teams starting having their own fan threads

I can’t speak to the number of fans on this website but the reason the games always look so damn empty is the location and overall crappiness of the Trop. We have good viewership and a decent following it’s just the only people willing to drive to the games are the opposing fans who want to see the teams they grew up watching before moving to Florida. Also Spring Training caused a lot of locals to latch onto teams. Tampa is a good baseball city but there’s almost too much baseball in the area for the local team’s own good.

We tried last year, with Braves fans and Astros fans staying in their own threads it would go 4-8 pages and die

I second the idea of a general MLB discussion thread. It would help those who pull for teams other than the Braves and Astros have a place to discuss baseball without starting their own thread. I bet there’s more here than we realize.

Baseball needs to go to ~100 games and space each series out a bit more.

Games need to be more important and have better matchups.

Nah, 156 but more doubleheader games on the weekend and more day games

156 isn’t even close to enough to create urgency or importance.

It needs to be dropped to close to 100, at most.

Games need to matter more.

If that is the case the NBA needs to go back to 60 and NFL 10. 156 is traditional but with more weekend doubleheader games you have less during the week. The season would also be shorter by at least two weeks.
