Couldn't really tell anything is happening downtown this weekend. Just a normal MPLS weekend.

Why does the secondary market matter?

Gonna have the lowest tv ratings for an ncaa championship game in a while.

In an era of declining interest in attending live sporting events, neutral site championship games are going to struggle extra hard.

$100 seems like a lot to me, on Sunday.

Those are Kentucky and Dukie fans off-loading.

And yet they still insist on playing championship games on a weeknight. I don’t get that. Same with the super bowl. Thursday, Friday or Saturday night should be when any important sporting event is held.

Yeah Monday Night Football proved that for 40 years.

No kidding.

Also, why Minneapolis?

Who would want to visit Minnesota?

I also like how people are complaining that this game doesn’t have two “blue bloods” in it and the “ratings will be down”. Why does that matter at all?

I’m sure there are nice times to visit Minneapolis, but this can’t be one of them.

Sounds like a good thing to me. I hope some people get to go who can't otherwise shell out the ridiculous prices normally seen.

Upper deck seats will go for $20. Like watching ants from up there.

Nah. It’ll top last year’s.

There’s a very specific caveat as to why though (see: CBS broadcast)

UVA and Tech may not be huge traveling bball fan bases but it's got a hell of a lot to do with the fact the game is in fricking Minnesota on a Monday night. If it was a Saturday in Dallas or Atlanta I'm sure a lot more fans of those two schools would love to go.

I love the fact that these two made it instead of having to hear dudes on TV jerk off to the same 4 or 5 schools. Recruits seeing that you don't have to go to Duke, UNC, UK, KU... to win a ship is a good thing for the rest of us

Final four championship is the easiest championship to go to. All fans of the losing semifinals games dump tickets after the semifinals. Got Lower bowl tickets for cheap when Nova beat UNC at the buzzer in Houston

Good point. Didn't even consider that.

Yep.

Made a sucker bet with a family member about the ratings of this game being higher than last year’s game. Obviously I didn’t share the caveat as to why.

Wish they’d move the game back to a real arena instead of keeping them in football stadiums. They could probably charge more per ticket and we’d get better basketball.

Also, start times are outrageous for a weekday. I get that you want the west coast to watch... but got damn, 9:30 eastern time tip is unwatchable for people that have to get up early and go to work.
