re: Thoughts on Wimbledon Tie Breaker.....

disagree, I liked the tiebreaker and I thought it raised the play of the guys because they knew where the finish line was. Had some incredible tennis, including at 11-11 when Roger fought from 40-15 to get to deuce and eventually a break point.

I didn’t feel cheated since the thing that decided it was two guys playing the same tennis they’d been playing the whole time.
1994 World Cup was decided by penalty kicks, and I was alienated for life by the sport.
College football overtime turns into extra innings baseball and is pure garbage.
Hockey overtime takes players off the ice; if that’s better hockey, why not just play the whole game that way?
I don’t see anything wrong with this tennis tiebreaker since it doesn’t change actual gameplay.

Do you guys have a problem with NBA OT too?

Because it’s the last set. Technically at 12-12 you have played 6 Full Sets of Tennis and have yet to decide a winner.

In particular, it took Kevin Anderson 26 games to beat John Isner (26-24) in the 2018 semifinals.
It took 50 games by my calculations

And then Anderson had nothing left in the finals...

It was an epic final.
The new rule sucks.
Roger had WAY too many unforced errors.

That's what Joker does to you. He just keeps hitting it back with pressure over and over and over again until you mess up.
I much prefer Federer's style because he can and does mix it up and has such an amazing array of shots, but you have to respect just how freaking methodical Joker is.

They should do a tiebreak at 6s in the 5th set. Four hours is more than enough time to decide a winner.

They played for five hours. That’s more than enough time. At some point players hit a point of diminishing returns and they’re just trying to outlast one another. As a casual fan, I was happy there was an end point. Feds was up 40-15 and couldn’t close!

All of this. I’d just assume play a 10 point tiebreaker at 6-6 and be done with it. 12-12 is pointless

RF had 94 winners to 62 unforced errors
Novak had 54/52
Fed went all out, and played as good of a match as he has played in the last few years. It was epic, when you can walk away with that line playing Djokovic, then take what you get and tip your cap. In b4 someone says 25 of those were aces, that still leaves him with 69/62.
I hated that it went to the breaker, and wish it was a 10 point breaker, but so be it. I think 12 all is a good point to say enough. That was a whale of a match, an all-timer for sure.

Ok then why can’t I change the rules for the last match?
You just made the same argument I’m making. That was the point of the question.
I didn’t care who won. Didn’t think it was unfair to anybody. Just think the no tiebreaker would be better for a final
