This year's Orange Bowl

Why are the Big East and the ACC automatic qualifiers? This game has sucked for the last few years and it looks to be an even worse match up this year. Can you imagine two teams playing in the Orange Bowl who aren't even ranked inside the Top 15? Heck, there may not even be a ranked team in the Orange Bowl this year.

I don't think its "automatic", they just like to go with tradition a la Rose Bowl.

I know the ACC is automatic, but the Big East just gets an automatic BCS berth. It's not guarantee which game they end up in.

FSU vs. WVU would be a decent matchup. At least you'd have two major programs going at it.

Makes sense. The ACC will find a way to get someone in the top 15 by then.

FSU and maybe WVU win out then both are top 15 teams at least.
That being said, the AQ's should be based on this season SOC......both the WAC and MWC are ranked higher than the ACC & Big East- those two AQ's should revert to WAC/MWC IMO but they will not

You think the WAC or MWC have finish above the ACC or Big East this year in the computers?
ETA: Sagarin currently has the ACC 2 and the Big East 3

I've seen a ton of projections with either OSU or Michigan State in this game, with the other team going to the Rose.
I know the ACC is autoqualifer for the game but the Orange Bowl IMO would pass up a Big East team if they could snag a Big X team in that place
