How did the Celtics not get that much hate in 2007?
Probably because Garnett and Ray Allen were traded to the Celtics and didn't arrive via free agency. They also didn't have some big woop-di-doo celebration in TD Garden like the Heat put on in American Airlines Arena. "The Decision" didn't help either.

The NBA more than any other league is a bandwagon league. It's built around 'stars' not teams.
very true but the majority of fans are still home town fans not bandwagon jumpers.
Id say most people still have their favorite team but have their favorite players from other teams but just don't guy running around saying my heat or my lakers

True. I personally want to see Lebron win a title, I really don't care if it's with MIA or whomever. It's actually probably better that it is with MIA as their "fanbase" isn't really in your face about how good they are. If he was on NY or BOS I don't know if I'd want him to win.

All I will say is Ichiro was my favorite player but when he went to my least favorite team, the Yankees, I had trouble cheering for him. I still like him but the Mariners come first.
Their Big 3 were over the hill not in the prime of their career. This was a first in the NBA.
