Moronic? So not agreeing to this so he would sign 2 years ago is moronic? Doing research and having guys whose livelihood based this decision shut him down recommend this is moronic?

Has Stras come out to complain about this? Has Boras? Has Johnson? Only people that have are people who don't have a clue to what is being said in internal meetings or guys whose job it is to get ratings.

Just stop. There is no defending this. It was a terrible decision by a bunch of over analytical puss nerds.

You think it's a terrible decision but people who get paid to make it, who lived it, and who know helluva lot more of the situation didn't. You just don't get it and never will probably, that's why you nor me work for a MLB club or any professional sports team making personell decisions.

Not a terrible decision as teams have won without their ace before.... The terrible decision was pitching Jackson out of the pen and going with Storen 3 straight days.

This decision hurt but guy who replaced Stras pitched a hell of a game

What happened in the 9th inning had nothing to do with SS, but you can't say him playing might not have impacted the outcome of the series. Like maybe Edwin Jackson would not have started at all.

No Ross would not have started if Stras was pitching, he would have been long relief. Ross pitched a damn good game difference would have been Stras in game 1 and 5.

Detweiler wouldn't have started? Wait what? He was in rotation all year and as a lefty he definitely been in as a starter.

Ross can't come out of pen usually he is so routine time oriented. That's due to Lump. He never was able to make Starters pen guys, no matter how good situation. That's what makes the Ziegler transition so weird.

#5 starter all season.....
Stras
Gio
Zimmerman
Jackson

Is what the playoff pitching would have looked like
Ross would have been odd man out not Jackson who had playoff experience and a ring. Not to mention Ross has pitched out of bullpen this season (33 games played, 27 starts) and previous seasons.....

God you people are dense. Now you've gone from definitely winning one to definitely winning two.

Yeah. 160 inning limit. Now you're are arguing that he would pitch 12 percent of his limit and throw two shutouts in the divisional series. On four days rest.

There's a reason why Dusty Baker's pitchers' arms fall off three years into his tenure. You were probably okay with throwing Prior and Wood until their careers were ruined.

Then Washington has a great pitching coach to get Lumps and Guttins stupid routines out of him. Lump has to be the worst pitching coach ever, and I like the man. But he consistently let his guys go 120+ each outing. When Boyd's tracked pitch counts you saw SMS pitchers near top always. The Catchers call the games at SMS also. The worst is Lump will let guys throw sliders at anytime.

He brought in a SS to start a semi of MVC tourney, kid threw 118 pitches complete game, threw 85 sliders, and never thrown over 60 pitches in his life.

This is probably why I don't have issue with how the Nats treated Strasburg.
