Outscored 14-7 in the second half vs ULL. They don’t know how to close.

until recently redshirt Sophs played year4 for alma mater.

Now the best leave after playing 2 or 3 years.

The product suffers.

One, and that was Texas A&M. The rest are worse than 80.

But since you are on this eye-test kick...it makes sense to go eye-test to other teams.

I'm not exactly on an eye-test kick. I did mention that what my eyes saw is simply an astonishingly good football team. This conclusion is not divorced from data of the objective variety, though. And not inconsistent with it either. Emphasizing the latter at week six presents sample size issues, so I explicitly mentioned the former.

I hope this makes sense.

Hold on, when were juniors NOT allowed to declare for the draft?

You mean the team that beat Virginia Tech by 2? That team?
Is that the same one that beat Mighty Boston College by the whopping score of 16-7? Please remind, as I seem to have forgotten, and you seem really smart.

When they do, and they score 50, should I post again?

People have anointed that Miami team the GOAT based off of the NFL careers of some of their players.

Can I agree while simultaneously acknowledging that CFB is almost a completely different sport than it was 10-20 years ago?

They had a couple of let down games but they didn't lose any games

They played best against good teams

Didn't they beat Washington 66-3 or something like that?

I'm more of a risk-taker, I suppose. Also, I think wait-and-see approaches are for milquetoast equivocators, but that's just my own personal opinion.*

Also, beating mediocre teams with ease is a better predictor of future success than winning close games against good teams. There's solid data on that.

Also, didn't TAMU only lose to Clemson 26-28? Would you have said they didn't have a pulse before the Bama game?

*But do feel free to ask me about the time I called Jerod Mayo as being a future 1st round draft pick based on a single play. I'll be happy to tell you about it. I'm pretty proud of that one.**

**To be fair, I've missed on a couple as well. I don't claim to be prescient; just to have seen all that I need to see from this team.

That Penn State team that blew it against Ohio State (a likely playoff team) would have lost 55-7 against 1994 PSU if Paterno kept all his guys in.

That's your playoffs. A current likely NCAA playoff team (Ohio State) that will likely face Alabama barely beat a team that couldn't move the ball on offense save for a QB read.

The current creative passing game in CFB is bad.

Stanford was a potential playoff team and might win the Pac-12 and their offense is 10 guys in the box.

Alabama couldn't have a more favorable set-up than CFB today when it comes to opponents.

You can't be serious, right?? From what I've seen so far, there is no CFB team that has existed that I've heard or read about that would beat the team the OP speaks of by 25 (I'm 50 for a frame of reference and have been able to form viable first-hand opinions on college FB since around 1978 or so).

Oh, and I hate them, and their POS coach - with every fiber of my being, and this will never change, ever.

The same Clemson who almost lost to Syracuse, yes. They’re overrated as frick.

Exactly. They only started getting put on this pedestal years after the fact.

The team itself was certainly great, but I wouldn't put them in my top 5 of best ever CFB teams. Being the most talented team ever and the best team ever are two very different things.

Listen, I think Clemson is a highly flawed outfit, but if Clemson sucks then everybody sucks except Bama, and we get right back to that dude who offered up the "no babies born between '96 and '00 had any athletic talent" theory, which isn't the dumbest thing I've heard all year, but definitely the dumbest thing I've heard this week.

I mean the 05 USC and Texas teams were quite dominant in their own right, remember watching UT and VY throttle Colorado 70-3 in the Big 12 title game thinking that team was every bit as good as SC was that season and I witnessed SC THUMP some teams like UCLA the season finale. As a naturally biased LSU fan, that 06 LSU team was super loaded top to bottom unfortunately the 2 losses suffered belied their dominance perfectly represented in the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame and the 11 team until the natty rematch where they could still impose will on opponents regardless of who their QB was, that LSU team passed for 30 total yards in the SEC title game and defeated Georgia 42-10, it was simply insane and a joy to watch.

This Bama team's pretty dominant too, top to bottom where the QB's a huge asset who elevates their offensive greatness and creativity, they keep it up I'll be inclined to agree.

They're 9th in the SEC in defense.
