I know that Nadal can gain points by winning Rome, but not sure if it will be enough of a gain to overtake Fed. He can only match his points at RG.

Nadal was going to stay ahead of Federer so long as he defended all his points from last season.

He didn't defend Madrid, but he lost in QFs, which is where he lost last year in Rome. So if he wins Rome, it should push him back to #1.

WTH happened to Kyrgios? Has he decided he'll just play tennis when he feels like it?

Uh, weird. Maybe he's hurt. Maybe he can only handle the pressure of 1 tourney a month or so. Who knows.

No what I’ve realized by his recent absence? As a fan I don’t miss Nick Kyrgios that much. It’s nice to see everyone out there giving 100% all the time.

Sad but true. And a guy like Bautista is 13th while never making it past the quarters in any big events.

So Harrison and Cilic got stopped at the first changover in the 1st set tiebreaker due to rain yesterday. Have to come out today tied at 3-3 in the breaker to get started! No pressure there.

Harrison lost in a 3rd set breaker. Dang. Hard to find an American singles win these days.

Thiem was not happy with himself today:

I honestly hope she faces no consequences whatsoever.

Eta I hate bad calls.

Eta2 clay court tournaments should start using Hawkeye too. That was an egregious call

Meh, the beauty of tennis is that one point should not change your entire match.

But I'm ready for fully autmated line calls, no more lines people, no more reviews, just instant feedback on all out calls.

No idea how...
A ball that hits the inside of the line is called out
That call doesn’t get overturned by the ump
The opponent (Sakkari) didn’t give her the point

Yeah, I would have lost it too.
