Went pretty heavy on Struff +6 games vs. Raonic. Just need 1 tiebreaker and I can't see Raonic winning 6-3 in the other 2 sets. A Struff win wouldn't even surprise me.

I have Thiem and Delpo on upset alert too, but laid off.

Struff loses 1st set breaker then throws in the towel. Thanks buddy.

That Gasquet score is pretty shocking.

Del Potro got a stiff test from the Kokk, but he came through.

Struff with the miracle break at 5-4 in the 3rd to allow me to escape with a push.

When do I begin cussing Droopy Dawg?

Looks like about 11 AM central.

Will ESPN show the 2 Americans on Independence Day, or Federer?

Why are the outer courts torn up already? The baseline is dirt and it's only day 2. Centre court and court 1 still look ok

Seems sooner than previous

Nobody comes to the net anymore as their primary style of play. There are 20 shot baseline exchanges instead.

Then maybe something changed with the grounds keeping. Fwiw I agree the baselines look pretty torn up for the first round

Americans did very well in Round 1. Americans went 8-2 and one of the losses was to another American.

I had some action today:
M. Zverev at +110 --> chicken dinner
Tiafoe at +175 --> chicken dinner
Pospy at +210 --> loss
Raonic-2.5 sets --> chicken dinner
Mannarino/Felpez over 37.5 games --> 5D counted this as a no-play because Felpez retired. I'm hoping my local guy does the same.
Parlay with Berdy, Simon, and Tipsy --> Berdy and Simon won, and tipsy was a no-play. I didn't have this one on 5D but only with my guy, and I'm not sure if he counts it as a two-team parlay, which I would win, or as a no-play. The former makes more sense imho.

Also, I put in two futures plays, with the odds coming from scoresandodds:
Cilic to win Wimby at 16-1
Kei to win wimby at 66-1

And then I put in some plays for tomorrow on 5D Probably too many. Nothing with my guy yet...will put in way fewer. I don't really care about my 5D account -- I have very little in there -- and so I'll just put in plays till I have no more money left.

All chalk. I'm not confident; was just bored.

It's just a few side courts that look pretty bad. I think it's because they use those as practice courts.

Groundskeeping practices at The All England Club do not simply change. So it's either the side court as practice court explanation, or they have had abnormal weather leading up to the tournament.

But only on the side courts?

Yeah, I was watching Harrison or somebody on an outer court, and agree with you guys that it looked extra awful out there. I'm almost certain they have separate practice courts and wouldn't be messing around chewing up match courts on qualies or practice.
LINK
I think it's part of why they have qualies at Roehampton or whatever, which some people have said is terrible site. Probably just a weather thing. Davenport is saying all of the courts are playing differently.

I don't play tennis but I'd love to scoot across that fine grass court naked and treat my balls to a fine massage.

Zero of them will be around the second week.
