Their recent draft history on offense has been abysmal.
They needed a WR in 2022 after trading AJ Brown, so they draft Treylon Burks in the first round. He’s a bust, then they just give up trying to draft a starting WR for the next four years for some reason. They find a couple of decent guys on day 3, but the quality at WR is deep in rounds 1-3.
Then after four years of ignoring the position, they overreach by using the 4th overall on Carnell Tate?
QB:
2022: Malik Willis 3rd Rd
2023: Will Levis 2nd Rd
2025: Cam Ward 1st overall
That’s a LOT of draft capital spent chasing their QB. Cam Ward has to make significant progress in his development in the next 14 months to make it worthwhile.
Left Tackle:
2020: Isaiah Wilson, 1st Round bust
2021: Dillon Radunz, 2nd Rd.
Took him a few years to develop into a starting offensive lineman. Signed by the Saints.
2022: Petite-Frere, early 3rd Rd. Started at RT for a couple of seasons, but is now out of the league.
2023: Peter Skoronski 1st Rd.
Drafted as a LT. He wasn’t the answer, but he has been the starting LG from Day 1.
2024: JC Latham 1st Rd.
Didn’t work out at LT, but he has been the starting RT for two seasons
2025: Gave up trying to draft a left tackle. Signed Dan Moore in free agency.
