Canada as you may know, rumored to be the largest of Minnesota's counties but somehow also a nation-state with a government and laws distinct from those of the Greater St. Paul/ Minneapolis area, is our lowly provincial neighbor to the North, and a veritable wasteland of ice and snow and bear attacks. They go oot and aboot and play Ahh-ckey on those rare occasions when the Rush & Barenaked Ladies doublebill is not hogging the Molson arena. It is said they consume the meat of the moose while listening to the comedy stylings of Martin Short. Here is where we celebrate The Maple Leaf State by mentioning our favorite Canadian people or things or memorable bear maulings:
--The greatest living Canadian is William Shatner,(narrowly edging out Prime Minister Beiber) who founded both hockey and curling in 1927 and who is said to speak fluent Canadian.
