The Other Manhattan football stadium (Lewisohn Stadium)

Everyone, of course, knows about the Polo Grounds but apparently there was another football stadium in upper Manhattan that I'm just learning about today. It was basically a half-stadium, but one of those two sites should have been kept for football imo.
Lewisohn Stadium was built in 1915 and was the home of the CCNY football team. CCNY discontinued its football team in 1950, but the stadium stood until 1973.
Location in red, Polo Grounds with gray marker at 155th

Pretty cool looking stadium.
Columbia has a large sports complex at the very top of Manhattan that could fit a modern NFL stadium. The 1 and A trains both go up there and it’s right on the water. Columbia should cancel all sports so they can make this happen.

Neat. I love reading up on lost stadiums/arenas/racetracks like this.
It's a shame that many modern sports venues lack the character of the old ones. For a billion dollars, you'd think they could look less dystopian.
