Pats wont ask him to do any of that. His size and experience is much needed in the back end of the defense

But its closer to the line that he is any good at. A SS that cant cover is a liability.

Pats Safeties were the smallest in the league last season, Teams were afraid to go in the middle against them, he beefs the unit up and replaces Chung which was useless

They gave a 30-year-old WR a 5-year deal?

He tested the market and failed.

It's a lose-lose for everyone involved

He gets less money and has a shitty QB throwing to him

And Minny gets stuck with an aging WR it will end up cutting in two years

Emmanuel Sanders, a restricted free agent, visited Gillette Stadium yesterday and signed the Patriots' offer sheet, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The terms aren't known.

quote:

1. The Steelers can match the contract offer and retain Sanders. The problem here is the Steelers are thin on cap room.

2. The Steelers can let Sanders sign with the Patriots and receive the Pats' 2013 third-round pick as compensation. The Steelers assigned Sanders a low-round tender, which means a new team would have to surrender the player's original draft round as compensation, and Sanders was a third-round pick in 2010. This would leave the Pats with picks in the first and second round, plus two in the seventh round.

The terms are not yet known, but the Steelers now have five days to match or let Sanders walk. Although "poison pill" offer sheets were outlawed in the new CBA, the Patriots have an abundance of 2013 cap room while the Steelers have next to none. It's quite possible the Pats have structured their offer in a way that would be difficult or impossible for the Steelers to match. If that's the case, Pittsburgh would receive New England's third-round pick as compensation since Sanders was tendered at the original-round level. It's an aggressive move by a Patriots team clearly intent on remaking its receiver corps, and an ominous development for a Pittsburgh club that's been shedding talent. Were Sanders to end up in New England, it would almost certainly signal an end to Brandon Lloyd's time with the team.

When we passed along the report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette saying Emmanuel Sanders had signed an offer sheet with the Patriots, we noted that there was no information about the terms of Sanders’ offer sheet, and that no other media outlets had confirmed the report.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there’s a good reason for that: Sanders hasn’t actually signed an offer sheet with the Patriots. The Observer-Reporter also reported that Sanders left New England without signing.

Probably a good thing for the Patriots. Both those guys markets werent near what they thought it be

Mike Riess suggested Talib could sign a one year deal to up his value (wouldnt mind that to keep Talibs head on straight)
