Nobody cares

And yet you posted an essay.

I did so to question why Yankee fans are always so quick to play the "27 rings" card when times are tough. And the number of upvotes that essay received show me that I am not in the minority in wondering this. I know Yankee fans aren't the brightest people, so I was trying to explain it using fairly small words.

I have never seen this anywhere else. Only Yankee fans do it. Not once have I ever had a conversation with a UCLA basketball bro and said "man your team has been sucking" and had him come back at me with "Yeah dude...11 rings!! AAAAAHHHHHH". Because he is at least rational enough to know that what UCLA did 50+ years ago has nothing to do with today's conversation.

I am not sure I have ever heard Celtic fans push their glory of the 50's and 60's on everyone and I never really hear Steeler fans play the "4 rings in the 70's" card either.

Most of us commoners just don't understand a conversation that goes like

"Yankees suck"

"Oh yeah, but at least we won like 18 championships before our grandparents started fricking"

this doesn’t hold water because the Yankees were good in the 20s,30s,40s,50s,70s, and 90s as well as the 00s

So what? What does that have to do with anything being discussed about teams from the last 15 years? Because over that span---the most recent span--the Yankees are no better a franchise than half of the league.

The upvotes reflect how many people hate the Yankees. You could have posted a wall of text that was even more unnecessary than what you posted, and it would still receive upvotes. You could post “Yankees suck” and get upvotes.

Just don’t say you don’t care when you obviously care. It’s ok to care. We’re all just baseball fans. Some of us are fans of the winningest franchise of all time. Some of y’all are inbred flyover losers. It’s all a big happy family.

Congrats man. I am happy for you. You deserve a badge. Enjoy all those titles from ancient history because you probably won't get to see any more before you die.

The Yankees of the 90s and early 00s used to do whatever it took to win. Now they make excuses and seem content with LCS appearances and losing to inbred flyover winners

Yankees have won one championship since 2000. Big boy franchises like the Lakers and Patriots have won 6 in the 21st century alone

Doesn't matter to them. You can't reason with these people. We should bow down to them because people who retired 70 years ago were really good players and they won a lot of games and titles.

It’s not. It’s remarkable you’re talking shite like some bastion of superiority in light of that fact

I’ve only stated facts. I’m not claiming the Yankees are good right now.

MLB competitive balance rules took away the only advantage the Yankees ever had over other organizations. They’re no longer able to just buy championships.

We’ve all seen the results since they’ve been forced to operate in the same manner as everyone else.

It looks even worse when you find out the Yankees have only won 5 championships since 1980

Real flagship franchises like the Lakers have won 11 since then

Why are you talking about basketball?

And no one can defend Hal Steinbrenner and Cashman. Total losers.

As much as I hate the Yankees, they do have a lot of people on the DL. It’s fun watching them struggle but they will probably rebound unfortunately when people start to get healthy again.

Just pointing out how dumb it is to push WiNnIgEsT fRaNcHiSe EvEr!!! When the yankees have been the definition of whatever outside of a five year run since Reagans first term

TLDR: The Yankees and their fans can take the "27 ring" bullshite and blow it out their arse. Nobody cares and it isn't relevant.

Sure it is.

Yankees - 27 World titles

ALABAMA - 18 National Championships

LA Lakers - 17 World Titles

It only doesn't matter when you don't have them.
