ECFs aren't what solidifies legendary status. That shouldn't come as a surprise.

Jordan is memorable for holding his pose against the Jazz and jumping up and down after hitting a game winner vs the Cavs. For being clutch.

Yeah, I'm not buying that either. He never really gave his true opinion of what happened in the Boston series last year either. I would love for him to disclose everything that he knows

chad ford did a huge analysis of this very argument in the early 00s. he had always said it, and then finally he broke it all down

the results were exactly what i'm describing. i've been arguing this for seriously at least a decade, but people refuse to look at it objectively

Jason Kidd is playing in his late 30s coming out of college and Kevin Garnett is playing in his mid 30s coming out of HS.

Not sure if this is a great argument.

which superstar from high school wore out that much sooner?

i mean sure, if there was a major injury (like tmac), there was a quick decline (and there are many more grant hills to make that comparison)

but kg, kobe, stephen jackson, etc haven't worn out more quickly

Right, because of the lockout.

In all seriousness, nobody should be compared to MJ until they've actually matched his accomplishments. The premature comparisons cause me to get on my soapbox.

LeBron averaged 3 points in the 4th quarter in his 6 games. Why are we still discussing this?

This will ultimately be the case with LeBron, but I just hate the knee-jerk historical comparisons that come after every big performance. He disappointed in the Finals unlike MJ (unfair comparison for anyone), it's a blemish on his resume, but all will be forgotten if he kicks arse next year
Absolutely. 100% agree.

Unfortunately most people wont have that perspective. Particualarly when it comes to Lebron

lebron vs. MJ at this point is an absolutely silly comparison .. totally different variables involved .. different game .. different economic climate .. everything .. and this goes for both sides .. jordan had motivations that lebron doesn't have to contend with today money-wise .. i agree with wilbon after the game tonight .. players today just don't have the introspection to improve from season to season in the offseason today that they did two plus decades ago .. they all have their money in the bank now ..

They why there are still teams out there that make drastic improvements from season to season when they draft the right player(s) or get the right type of players from free agency?

he's referring to the so-called upper echelon players .. the stars of the league .. collective teams have to improve from year to year or revenue dips .. individual players with fat, guaranteed contracts don't have to improve year to year ..
