Post taken from the game thread at the Pewter report just before halftime of the Chiefs-Bucs game.
Defense came to play. Gives up over 350 yards passing in the first half and they came to play.
And i haven't even brought up the plethora of posts getting on Carlton Davis's arse for not being able to cover Tyreke Hill in man to man with no help from the safety. Like any of these people posting in the game thread could stay within ten yards of Hill if they were given the assignment to cover him in man to man.

Point being you put any cornerback in the league on Hill in single coverage with no help from the safety that is the result you are going to get. It isn't a matter of Davis sucking. It is a matter of the defensive play calling sucking. Imagine the Broncos bringing out a game plan of an air raid throw the ball fifty times game plan today against the Saints. This is a defensive version of that type of game plan.
The notion that you just stick a cornerback on Hill with no help and you will have no issues on defense is absurd. The people posting seem to have thought that Davis was being given the assignment to cover Michael Irvin. Not early 1990s Michael Irvin, 2020 Michael Irvin.
