And the next year you guys lose to the 8th seed. btw I wonder how good the Mavs would be if they got Chris Paul???? Interesting

FWIW I really like Dirk a lot. I wish he was a Hornet. I realy wish he would eventually become a more dominat guy down low. I think he would rival Lebron for best player in the every ear if his post game and defense got a little better.

I just love seeing the huge mismatches Dirk and Lebron cause.

No need to hock Collison,

Not now, but in 2 years assuming the team has been improved enough that you're confident Paul resigns, you can probably help the team more by trading a starting caliber point guard than using him 15 minutes a game off the bench.

Regarding the OP it really depends on how they draft and whether Thornton is the starter or a backup. Right now he's the starter by default because the position's so thin, but I think everyone's been impressed so we'll see if he grows into the role he's been thrust into.

Peterson and West for Stoudemire.

We try to sign Stoudemire to a max extension.

Paul/Collison
Thronton/Posey
Peja/JuJu/draft pick
Amare/Songalia
Okafor/Marks/Gray

Maybe with Saints being so badass he will think NO could be a great sports city.

Hornets are not that far off. All they need to do is find a player who makes Paul the 2nd best player on the team
I dont think the Hornets can get Kobe or LeBron

Amare's garbage. No team with Amare Stoudamire as its 2nd best player, and CP3 as its best player would ever strike fear into the hearts of the league.

Stoudemire

the problem with him is that he has already come out and said he wants a max deal.....and although he would be one hell of an improvement for our team's front line he is not worth the further handicapping of the hornets in the future with yet another max deal

Why not? Peja will come off the books soon and Okafor and Paul already hve big deals. No reason Stoudemire can't be great for a 5-6 year deal. He also fits with Paul and Okafor is a solid defensive guy to complement him down low.

There is nothing wrong with having a high payroll if you are good. You aren't ever going to win a championship without at least two superstars. If we ha to keep Peja until the deadline next year that wouldthey be as bad since he would be the spot up shooter. As it is now you have Peja and West just standing around to shoot jumpers. That hurts Pauls game.

It would be a no brained IMO to trade fr him. The biggest thing is to make sure he will extend with you.

Well, maybe if you get rid of all of these guys:

Peja
Mo Pete
DW

You will definitely have the cap room thats for sure, I would much rather Bosh personally but I think he'll be in a brutal free-for-all to get the heck outta Toronto

That's the plan. West and Peterson go for Stoudemire right away, and maybe they could sign Stoudemire to a lucrative one-year deal, with the guarantee Stojakovic goes next year and he gets a max deal then.
