So when he found out where the dollars came from he paid them back. According to what you linked. What exactly is the accusation, then?

There were others in political power just as guilty as Favre in this, someone deserves jail time in this fiasco
They could likely charge him for something but why they haven't at this point is because they are likely protecting the political bs surrounding this deal.
He has paid the money back except for the interest part of it and my guess is most outlets aren't going after this story without some kind of legal scenario playing out to protect themselves on reporting non factual info from this deal.

The NBC article states it cannot be established Favre knew the source of the funds. It isn’t illegal to lobby a charity and/or the government to build a school facility. Once he found out where the money came from, he immediately paid it back. The is a huge nothingburger.

Couldn’t we apply this same “gotcha” to revered players like Ray Lewis and Marvin Harrison?

So had time to read the article, I stand corrected, he technically wasn't paying out of pocket because the money was given to him by the state but he wasn't profiting off of any if this. He was turning around and giving the money to the project.

If anything he is guilty of being ignorant of what budget the money is coming from, not that big of a deal.
