Wishful thinking or do you really believe this.
I believe this.
2 prospects between Oltzy, Clemens, Hoover, Spruill, Bethancourt for Bourn
1 prospect out of that and maybe a really low tier prospect for Ludwick or Willingham (I'd rather Willingham), and call it a day

Willingham would be nice. Rather have Quentin platoon with Jason.
Bourn is who we really need though.

Quentin is unrealistic and is only on the market if the Sox get a package they can't turn down. They aren't gonna trade a middle of the order hitter when they are only 3 games back
It would take 1, maybe 2, of our top prospects to get him. If we did, he wouldn't be platooning either.
So that's not happening.
We have to hope for Bourn and a platoon/bench bat. That will give us the best chance to succeed.

Hopefully dumb Astros come down on asking price for Bourn.

it's almost August and Jose Constanza is our starting CF and leadoff hitter. Please talk me off the ledge.

Well the Sox feel the have a replacement in AAA

Dream on. Astros think Bourn is fricking Curtis granderson or some shite

DOB is trying to convince people of Bourn. Considering he pretty much works as a Braves PR guy, that looks most likely to me.

You got a link on the offer we made for Pence?

Who is a little banged up and unproven at the major league level
I don't think Quentin goes anywhere but that's just my opinion

#Braves not one of main teams on #Astros' Bourn, at least not yet. Got in late on Pence. #Reds, #Indians, #Nationals in.

Who do you offer 'stros for Bourn?
Posted on 7/30/11 at 11:41 am to SwampDonks
I can't see us getting Quentin either. The White Sox aren't going to trade him when they are close to taking the lead in the AL Central. Bourn, Upton, Willingham, and Ludwick are actual possible.

A lot of analysts seem to think there's gonna be a lot of movement up until the August 31st clear waivers deadline. The Braves shouldn't force a trade that doesn't make sense just to appease the fans and keep up with the Phillies.

Was from a post on Crawfish Boxes.
I assumed it was from a Stros beat writer.

I agree, no reason to overpay just to make a move
At the same time, once you get into waivers, you have a hard time finding a deal that can affect your chances of winning the WS. You'll find guys with bad contracts that will be FA at the end of the year and also some bench bats and such that will be FA at the end of the year but nothing more than that
It's just a lot harder to find the right matchup for your team when you move into the waiver period

Looking more and more this is going to happen which I'm ok with if we get another guy like Willingham.

That is an epic fro.
I'd take him and Ludwick or Willingham. Would be nice to get a reliever, but is the plan to try out a few AAA guys in September and hope they can add bullpen depth in the postseason? Is JT ready to be counted on for 7th/8th inning relief?
