Didn't say he wasn't talented. Yes, he's probably a top 3 catcher in MLB behind Molina and Montero. But I've seen the guy take days off several times.

McCann behind montero and Molina? U crazy! Mccanns always been better than Molina, and montero needs to put a few real good seasons in a row to even be considered on mccanns level.

I don't know how u think McCann loafs it sometimes. He's all in every game. Maybe u see what u want to see?

I just can't believe he didn't list him behind Posey.

Overall? You're out of your mind. With the bat, sure McCann has better numbers than Yadier. But if you tell me I can have one catcher I'm taking Molina based on his superior skills behind the plate, defensively, calling a game and leadership. Molina has 4 straight Gold Gloves. How many does McCann have? And let's not forget Yady had 9 RBI during the World Series last year.

Why would I? I have no agenda against Brian McCann.

Brian McCann is God's gift to the catcher position. If you disagree, then frick you.

Yeah I don't get the McCann loafs comment. He plays the game hard.

But I can see how someone would make the case for taking Molina over him.

Molina's rWAR since 2009 is 9.5.
McCann's is 9.2

Molina's fWAR since 2009 is 13.2
McCann's is 14.6.

They both provide about the same worth. Molina just does it defensively while Mac does it offensively. Personally, I'll take the offense.

Yeah I remember in the 2010 NLDS he had the most RBIs of any Braves hitter during that series. He had 3.

A) my comment was an obvious joke

2) if you're going to talk shite about offense in a series you won by a total of 2 runs, then have fun.

You'll take the offense over the defense? At the expense of the good pitching staff you have right now? That doesn't make sense.

TROLOL

This is your best effort in a year or so. Kudos RoRo.

You act like Mac is a liability back there. He more than holds his own.

Aside from throwing out runners I've always thought he was adequate defensively. He does a pretty good job calling a game with a bunch of young pitchers too. It's impossible to quantify that.

Without question.

Agree with everything you said.

There's no doubt Molina is very superior defensively. Both on blocking balls and with his arm.

However, the difference between two veteran catchers calling a game is not going to be significant. I think both players are probably leaders on their teams, so I don't really see an advantage either way there.

I agree with Swamps. I prefer Mac's superior bat to Molina's superior defense. (Which needs to heat up soon!)

Actually, Weiters blows away Molina's defensive catching metrics. He's starting to mash too.

Yeah, Weiters is the only catcher I would take over Mac right now.
