I'll reserve my opinion until I see the numbers.

Braves trying to lock them up cheap, they need to go ahead and extend Heyward now before he blows up and cost them 20mil a year. They may be able to lock him up at 12-15 right now

$42 over 4, incentives can push it to $45.5. Option year is for $13.

I'm sure he will be Frank's next target. Don't think you'll see anything this offseason though.

I don't think it's a terrible deal. I think I'd rather save the money and use it on a positional need next year like 2b or 3b. We probably could have got a very nice return for CK and our farm system could use the help. That being said, I'm ok with it and glad Craig will be around for a while. I just hope he stays healthy if we are paying him that much.
I think that we extend Heyward after this season if he does what he is capable of this year. And then there's no way that Simmons doesn't get extended at some point. I love the direction our team is headed by keeping our homegrown guys.

It's not as bad as I had feared. I think this is better than him winning the arbitration case.

I'm a huge Kimbrel fan, but i don't like the deal unless our budget is going to grow to over 100 mil in the near future.....No closer deserves 10 mil a yr IMO

It is at $95M this year. I think we get to $110 or so in the next few years.

It'll pretty much have to be if we are paying that much for a closer and hope to field a decent team. I would have much rather spent that money on Minor/Simmons/Heyward, but I guess we'll see how it shakes out going forward.
It's a fair market deal for Kimbrel, just hope he stays healthy.
