All we need out of BJ and Uggla is to bat .250

The rest of the lineup is good enough just bat .250 and get on base.

Nope, definitely true. Schuerholz made an announcement. Very interesting.

I'm curious how my fellow Braves brethren feel about Ubaldo Jiminez.

I see it as highly unlikely that we are able to trade for an ace. We simply don't have the guns in the system to make a deal other teams can't easily beat.

Jimenez has shown some wild swings in production, but he really came on this season. MLBTR predicts him to net a 4 year/$52 mil deal, which is exceptionally reasonable for a guy that's a good, 3-win pitcher, and potentially more. Even if he never becomes more than a 3-win guy, using the generally accepted $5 mil/win formula, he's performing above value if he's getting $13 mil/year.

Other than a dreadful 2012, he's been worth at least 3 wins every year in his career, so it's a pretty safe bet you'd make good on that investment IF that's ultimately what he gets paid.

My hunch is he may get a tick more, considering Lincecum's deal in San Fran. Then it becomes a riskier proposition.

Byrd is expected to make $5-7M from what I've seen.

I'd be a little surprised if he got that much.

$8M. RAJ will regret it though imo.

I'd love to have the financial flexibility to get Ubaldo, but I think he's too costly for the risk in our situation

Sucks to lose Hudson, but he's not worth 11.5 a year at this point in this career.

I miss Ted. We are going to be in deep shite in a few years with the TV deal if Heyward, Freeman, and Simmons all get interest from teams like Anaheim, Mexico, and Texas who have unlimited funds.
