While I love Ellsbury, he'd probably only be here a year. I think he is a free agent next year. No way we could afford to keep him

Braves interested in Emilio Bonifacio

Do. Not. Want.

Me either. Aside from 2011 he's a .250-.260 singles hitter. His OBP isn't awful, but again...he's just a singles hitter, so his OBP needs to be a lot better than not bad.

Maybe we can trade him for Uggla and a B prospect, get Toronto to eat most of Uggla's salary, move Prado to 2B, put Bonifacio in LF, and pick up Headley for 3B.

MAKE IT HAPPEN FRANK!

Bourn's average OPS+ over the last four years has been 97.

Bonifacio's has been 79.

You say he is a singles hitter. What is wrong with that? Bonifacio on 1st base is a given 2nd and 3rd base.

SD is not giving up Headley whatsoever.

I have longed to see the Braves add strong element of speed + power.

To me it all depends on the trade. I wouldn't simply say do not want. I would definitely want Emilio over the current situation.

Of course my dream scenario is to get a guy like JaCoby Ellsbury or Alex Gordan or JUp. That would be sweet!

Well Bonafacio is younger with room to improve, and more importantly cheaper. If you want to pay 15 million a year for a slightly higher OPS and aging legs, go for it. He can provide similar production to Bourn at a way cheaper rate, and not to mention play all over the diamond. I like the fit, but agree to disagree I guess

Nothing is wrong with that if your OBP is hovering around .380 or higher.

A leadoff gut who gets on base less than 1/3 of the time with no power isn't exactly ideal however.

Well he was hovering* around 360 the prior year and on the rise, last season he did get hurt.

Again to me it's still exactly what you are giving up. And if nothing else is coming to fruition. I would still prefer have him if there was nothing else.. I am valuing him more as a utility player with potential to get streaky hot, but not necessarily your every day lead off guy. And yes I am enamored with his speed and the fact he is only 27 years old. His salary is what 2 million? I also love the fact he is a switch hitter.

How is Schafer better when he hit for .211 last season. Schafer has never had an OBP above 314.

But did Bonifacio hit a HR in his first career at bat?

I'd be fine with that. I just wouldn't want him playing 150 games a year.

He isn't. Schafer is hot garbage.

Buster Olney ?@Buster_ESPN
One of the teams involved in the four-team Ariz-Cle deal is the Kansas City Royals. Not sure about the form yet.

Jon Heyman ?@JonHeymanCBS
#rangers said working hard now on justin upton.

Bob Nightengale ?@BNightengale
The #Dbacks, #rangers, #indians and #rays have reopened talks of possible 4 team trade involving likes of Shields,Upton,Cabrera

Heyman also tweeted that one of the proposed deals has Upton to Texas, Martin Perez to Cleveland and Asdrubal Cabrera to Arizona.

I would think teheran > perez in that situation.

The most updated tweet I've seen is that those talks are going no where - Rosenthal.

Yeah that was pretty far fetched.

I bet the D'Backs can snag Cabrera though.

I would like Brett Gardner, but I doubt the Yas give him up. I think he'd be a good fit for our lineup.

Rather than making him prove anything this year, we exercised the option on Fredi Gonzalez's contract.

Hooray.
