He would have been a better bat coming off the bench than Hinske this past year.

I say we just shell out the money to sign David Wright long term. Then we roll with this lineup next year.

Span
Prado
Wright
Heyward
Freeman
McCann
Uggla
Simmons

Crasnick isn't a bullshiter, so I'm guessing we're nearing a deal...

Hopefully a change of scenery does him some good. I don't like the idea of him and Uggla next to each other in the lineup though.

Depending on the price, I'm all for paying for a player hitting their prime at a premium position, rather than overpaying for one nearing the end of their prime at a spot that can be filled with fluff (Uggla).

I have mixed feelings with Upton. If he can be the Upton of 07 great but he can be another Uggla swinging for the fences every at-bat.

Oh I agree...I just don't like the idea of the 5th and 6th spots in our lineup being good for 4 Ks every night. Is there any way for us to get out of Uggla's contract? I'm not even sure we could get a B prospect at this point.

B.J. Upton and #Braves are in agreement, pending physical. Terms of contract not yet known.

I will say, I have a lot of confidence in what Greg Walker and Scott Fletcher can do. That and Tropicana is pretty pitcher friendly whereas Turner is slightly more hitter friendly.

I think this could wind up being a great deal.

I also like this deal.

He's also much younger than Danny was

Reported 5 years, 70-75 mil.

Bargain, IMO.

Yes. 30/30 potential, solid defense at a premium position, and the contract is for his 28-32 years

Plus he's right handed

I like it. Very interested to see who the third outfielder or third baseman is going to be to see how the lineup might look though.
