In about 30 minutes we will find out that the Atlanta Braves have won the rights to Yu Darvish.

We planning on making any moves this offseason?

Yu Darvish, ha. Just what we need...

I think Frank spends most of his time with prostitutes.

"Bourn's obviously the leadoff guy for us. Right now we have Jason penciled into the two hole and Chipper in the three hole. We can mix and match Mac, Danny, and Freddie in the middle three spots. We'll probably have Pastornicky down in the order while he gets his feet wet. We have a lot of different things we can do with Martin."

These are Frediot's comments on the lineup (apparently he said it on the radio today). Nothing ground breaking.

ETA: Improvement over his idea last offseason of batting McOut 2nd.

JJ will be a Red, IMO.

This thread is full of lulz.

quote:

Andino, Jones, Tillman and Strop for Jurrjens, Vizcaino and Bourn. The O's get a speedy, defensive, leadoff hitting CF; a likely #2 SP w/injury concerns; and a high ceiling SP prospect. The Braves get a power hitting CF for two years (verses one for Bourn); their starting SS w/+ defense; SP depth with MOR potential; and a potential setup RP.

quote:

Jurrjens, Prado, O'Flaherty

for

Matusz, Reimold, Andino

quote:

I've advocated a Jones to Atlanta deal, but it was always revolving around their young starters... guys like Minor, Delgado, and Vizcaino.

quote:

This is not a deal you inolve a player like Adam Jones in unless it's for Jurjjens, Prado, and one of their other young arms.

One things for sure, we are going to have one shitty defensive infield next year.

How good is Pastornicky's defense?

Freeman is a lot better on defense than his stats suggest, IMO. Chipper is pretty solid when he's healthy. Uggla has no redeeming qualities on defense.

Thanks for posting that thread. Reading through it.

God those guys are fricking delusional.

I'm tempted to join on there and tell them how it is.

Below average to average glove, worse arm.

When you hit it right at him.

I wouldn't call it good. I have only seen him play live twice, but his arm strength looked pretty suspect to me. From that plus everything I've read he has average-decent range, but does not project to be a plus defender by any means.

Swamps could probably give a better full scouting report.

Bid for Yu is supposedly high. I think I am the only one in the state waiting for the results instead of following the cpME saga

Yanks will get him. They needed him the most, and we're willing to pay top dollar for him.
