Make something happen, Frank.

Craig is the unanimous Rookie of the Year. Freeman got 2nd, Worley got 3rd.
1st unanimous selection since Pujols

Don't see us taking on Delmon Young. Doesn't make much sense.

At the very least it doesn't sound like we're bringing him back.

I mean, when it comes down to giving the kid a shot or signing some vet to a one year deal that you know will hit .240 and give you a .270 OBP, I don't see it as a bad thing.

Obviously I'd rather just have one great player out there, but they would be pretty solid IMO... if Fredi used them right.
In theory, yes. But you don't trade Prado if the trade means you'll have to rely on Fredi's logic 162 times a year.
Fredi showed last year he has no grasp on how to properly take advantage of matchups. Planning for a year long platoon would end in disaster. Fredi would inevitably end up playing the "the hot hand" regardless of splits.
As far as a Prado/Young swap, just no.

Rockies may deal for Prado
The Colorado Rockies have a hole to fill at second base now that free agent Mark Ellis is headed to the Los Angeles Dodgers. One possible replacement could be the Braves' Martin Prado.
Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies and Braves recently had talks that that were merely in the "fact-finding stage." Those talks are expected to restart at the GM meetings in Milwaukee.
The Braves are in the market for outfield help and would reportedly prefer to deal Prado rather than use him in left field. As Renck points out, the Rockies have the outfield depth to make a deal happen. Seth Smith could fit in a platoon for the Braves, and there also is Charlie Blackmon, a former star at Georgia Tech.
Prado could also be an option at third base, another area of concern in Colorado.[quote]

The shitty thing is, I like all 3 of the guys they are mentioning: Wheeler, Blackmon and Smith... but they are a LEFTIES.
I really don't understand why we'd pursue yet another left hand bat. I'm not in love with Prado as a player, but as one of our remaining right handed bats, you can't give him up for a natural OF lefty who is around the same level.
Though, Blackmon can really run.

The Rockies would likely sign off on Seth Smith and a lower-level prospect for Prado. But they aren’t going to move Smith and a center fielder like Tim Wheeler or Charlie Blackmon.

I'd love to get Charlie Blackmon.
Here, let's just do this:
Prado, Jurrjens, Nate McLouth, the souls of Derek Lowe and Steve Bedrosian
for
Tulo and Blackmon

BREAKING NEWS
Jim Bowden -
• There is a trade brewing between the Atlanta Braves and Detroit Tigers centering around Martin Prado for Delmon Young. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez told me he wants an impact right-handed bat. Trading Prado, who can play second, third and left, would sacrifice the Braves’ insurance plan for aging veteran Chipper Jones, who is a major health risk at third base.
I don't like this FWIW
Delmon is basically a tad bit worse version of Prado, except more expensive and we will only have 1 year of him, rather two with Martin
