Frank Wren just on MLB tv. Said they had a conference call on Bourn a month ago, and they had decided a week ago that CF was the focus and they didn't want to displace Prado or Heyward. Love how Wren keeps everything hush hush until it happens.

I called my mom who watches every and told her about the trade, she must have Fredi Gonzalez syndrome bc she goes "nooo! Shafer was so good!" I proceeded to list some stats and ended it by saying Bourn is pretty much a much better version of Schafer so she likes it now

I feel like this deal helps the Braves keep pace with the Phillies, but something else still needs to happen in order for them to be surpassed.
Of course having said that, anything can happen in October. Not sure what the move should be though.

I've heard anything from 6.5 to 8 or 9 million for his arbitration year next year but that's ok with me, especially considering McClouth was making around 6.5.
We had to do this, if we didn't CF would continue to be a problem given the dismal CF free agent class next year.
