I hate to give AA any benefit of the doubt, but it is absurd how unlucky we have been with pitchers this year

Yeah, no team would really recover from losing their ace for the season and have the #2 go on the IL, but it was still dumb to bank on both Newcomb and Folty rounding out the rotation. If you want to give one of them a shot fine, but hoping both of them overcome their issues is just having unfounded faith.

Phillies just got a 2 RBI walk-off single with 2 outs and 2 strikes to win the first game against Boston.

Team has a horseshoe up its arse.

ETA: it's possible that we could only be .5 games up after tonight.

Ughhhhhh Kyle Wright

Sometimes he gives up runs, sometimes he doesn’t.

But he always loads the bases.

How many times have we heard that one of our young pitchers “has made serious progress” at the training site??

That was nice.

I know Wright always looks good the first time through the lineup, but he does seem to have better control of his fastball based on those pitches we just saw.

11 pitch first inning... seemed strong there.

The problem with Kyle is that he has had dominant innings only to completely fall apart an inning later.

I guess that's why he's the first of the retreads back up because at his best, he is better than all of them, but he has shown no signs of consistency yet.

Just saw this:

Brian Snitker said that #Braves 2B Ozzie Albies is going to get at least 4-5 AB and play defense in scrimmage game over at the alternate site in Gwinnett tonight.

Chip: "No complaints at all about the Atlanta offense."

He says this a day after the Braves stranded a runner on third for 5 straight innings in a one run game.

Paul and Chip, clearly with their marching orders, trying so hard to point out that Kyle Wright has changed after just one inning...

Wright promptly gives up a homer to Matt fricking Joyce.

Braves 2020 in a nutshell.

Riley rolls over right into the shift on that pitch a month ago.

His approach is totally different now and it's awesome.

Wright has given up a homer to Joyce who had just one homer coming into the year and now to Alfaro, who didn't have a homer yet and was hitting below .200.

We're fricked.
