Uggla is 4 for his last 57, and isn't even hitting the ball hard at people. Fredi has benched Hanley Ramirez for less(or more, depending how you look at it)

Uggla could go 0 for 500 and I don't think Fredi would bench him.

I really get tired of this never-ending argument.

I love the power argument...I'd like to see a breakdown of his HRs and even RBIs vs the game situation, meaning how many come with us behind vs how many come with the lead. I honestly can only remember a time or two where he did something beneficial at the plate in a true time of need

They are still progressing him rather slowly. I assume they like him, but he won't be in the bigs until 2015 at the earliest at this pace.

Was he invited to spring training this year?

You're right, there really shouldn't be an argument

14 of 21 home runs were when the game was within two runs. 7 behind, 4 tied, 10 ahead.

He was the team's best "clutch" hitter last year. Had the best numbers of anyone with RISP

Where the hell do you dig up this shite?

And Uggla needs to hit the bench, there is no way to defend a middle infielder hitting .180 on the season...the only sane argument would be having Ozzie like defense

I think he started off the year injured if I remember correctly (he got hit in the wrist with a pitch at the end of last year that gave him issues off an on, I'm not sure if it was related to that or not, maybe Swamps knows if he happens to pass through).

Either way he was a week or two behind folks hitting the minors, hit .550 for a week at high A then went to AA. I'm surprised they haven't moved him to AAA as well though with him hitting .344. I'm assuming it has to do with Pastornicky and getting both ABs.

At 72-46, the Braves have the most wins and fewest losses in baseball

Baseball reference splits. Takes like 10 seconds.

It's not like middle infield is a premium offensive position. We're just going to have to agree to disagree on Uggla

Uggla's WAR is at -0.4 so far this season.

Conversely, Simmons is at 4.6

They are both awful at the plate, but because Simmons has GOAT type skills with the glove, he is highly valuable. Uggla fricking sucks on defense, and now his bat is no longer offsetting it. I have little doubt that it will continue into next year. He's hurting the team at this point.

Looked it up. Missed time after being hit and after breaking his leg covering first. Missed spring this year with a sore elbow.

Pastornicky has been playing more shortstop and even a game at third since going back to Gwinnett.

Uggla's at 1.0 on fangraphs. But I'm not a big fan of WAR as you all know.

In the case of Uggla vs Rev, it's a veteran with shitty fielding and shitty hitting versus a young guy with even shittier fielding and shitting hitting.
