I really hate owning Philly pitchers in fantasy. I hate wanting them to pitch well and being upset when they get knocked around. frick a Phil.

Teheran - 3.1 IP, 6 ER, 1 K

Braves would be better off trading him if they can get top 20 prospect value.

No question about it. Dude has fallen face flat this year.

Shocked that none of those 6 runs were from the long ball.

You think he just got lucky last year in AAA? The one start I saw from him in Atlanta this year gave me plenty of confidence. I think he is tired of pitching for the jv club personally.

Well, he was getting shelled in Spring Training as well.

And yes, I know that it is ST and pitchers are working on it. Fact of the matter is, he's gotten his arse handed to him the entire year.

That doesn't just come from being sick of pitching in AAA, and if he has that bad of an attitude, then he's not mentally tough enough to compete at the highest level anyways. But I don't think that is the case.

He's just off.

I understand what you are saying, and it's concerning, but by no means am I ready to call him a bust. I thought his stuff looked good the one start he had in Atlanta. Granted it was one start. He's 21 yrs old. Maybe his struggles have gotten in his head. Doesn't mean he's not mentally tough though.

edit..
I think a Paul Johnson quote us tech fans always make fun of fits here: "It's never as good or as bad as it seem."

I thought he overrated... always thought he was a possible bullpen arm but Venters/Kimbrel are already locked in.

Such a huge discrepancy in peripheral stats can often mean an undisclosed injury. It's not because he's bored.

I don't think anyone is calling him a bust at all. He's still our best prospect.

But like Louie said, if the Braves can get top 20 prospect in all of baseball value for him, it's worth looking into.

I'd still expect him in Atlanta next year, even with how bad he has performed. He has a lot of work to do, though.

I've admittedly never been a big fan, but I'd imagine they could still get near max value for him.

As mentioned, he's only 21.

I'm not sure he'll get kicked around right now, but I think he's a name that could be mentioned this offseason when looking for an outfielder.

I'm sorry, you ALWAYS thought he was a bullpen arm?

He has the potential to have 3 or 4 above average pitches. Why would he be a bullpen arm?

possible (adjective) - that may be true or may be the case, as something concerning which one has no knowledge to the contrary: It is possible that he has already gone.

What about Arodys Vizcaino? After this surgery, is he gonna still be prepared as a SP or go back into the bullpen

TBD.

I'd like to see him step back into a starting role.
