It's dumb to throw him anything within 6 inches of the plate. He would swing at it if you rolled the ball to the plate. If he ever learns to make contact on a regular basis he could be a serviceable player.

Just looked up this classic boxscore from 1990 that Dave Fleming just mentioned on the KNBR broadcast:

Is it weird that I remember watching this game in my living room when I was 7 years old?

It's great to see Minor has some fight in him. He knows that he could still be a five in the rotation even if we sign Dempster/Greinke. This is a really good sign. Hope he can keep it up.

Yeah.....let's see him make it through another couple of innings tonight without imploding, and then repeat that another 3 or 4 times before declaring him anything as lofty as a 5th starter.
