Nice. Well if he does end up having to get it let’s hope that is the case. Of course, hopefully he doesn’t have to.

Not really.

LIke I said, there are other names of available free agents. I listed a handful.

If those names you listed are the ones that stood out to you, I don't want to know the rest.

You're overreacting big time.

I'm not overreacting at all. We need insurance.

We've had pitchers dropping like flies since spring. At the rate we're going, you and I will be thrust into the rotation by the all star break.

None of those free agent pitchers are insurance.

MATTY!

ETA: Dynamite drop-in by Frenchy to mention Olson's first pitch numbers right before that bomb.

Riley just isn't barreling anything. I saw this earlier today on the old Tomahawk Take website. It was written Friday:

quote:

He'd end up winning NL Player of the Month, and on August 1, the Braves rewarded him with a 10-year, $212 million contract extension.

Since the ink dried, however, the All-Star 3B has had a much different performance. Since August 1, 2022, Riley has only slashed .229/.331/.405, which is only good for a 105 wRC+. Among qualified hitters, this wRC+ ranks 77th out of 126, placing him behind hitters like Carlos Santana and Cody Bellinger. This season, his 104 wRC+ places him 93rd out of 174 qualified hitters.

It's alarming at this point.

Yoshida goes from having no swing and misses this month to whiffing on three straight pitches.

That strike call on Devers was bad enough to make up for it. Holy hell

I love watching Acuña out in the field putting on a show. Even tho the runner was safe just watching him try to gun the runner at home from right is sick.
